Central Cello Celebration Finale Concert - including 100 Cellists rocking to the music of Queen
On October 18th and 19th one hundred cellists from across the state will converge upon Ellensburg to participate in the eleventh biennial Central Cello Celebration, hosted by the CWU Music Department. The world premiere of Tom Walworth’s “Crowned Jewels”, a musical medley of famous hits from the band Queen will end the Finale Concert on October 19th at 6pm in the CWU Music Concert Hall. Dr. Nikolas Caoile and Bruce Walker conduct the two cello choirs. Additional recital performances are scheduled for Friday, October 18th at 7:00pm and October 19th at 2:00 pm, in the CWU Music Recital Hall. These recitals will feature Seattle Symphony’s Nathan Chan, talented young cellists from across the state of Washington, and CWU cello majors. All performances are free admission.
