Are you passionate about supporting smooth operations and making a meaningful impact in your community? At Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties—one of the largest Habitat affiliates in the country—we’re looking for dynamic, solutions-oriented professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace challenges, and are dedicated to creating lasting change in affordable homeownership across the Puget Sound. Since 1986, we’ve developed 1,000 housing solutions for over 2,600 people and successfully advocated for fair housing policies at the city, county, and state levels. As we set our sights on doubling our impact and serving an additional 2,000 people by 2030, we’re seeking the right team members to help us reach that goal.

Join us as a Kittitas Development Coordinator, where you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient office operations, providing vital administrative support, and advancing our mission of affordable homeownership. In this role, you will lead the coordination and execution of all major Kittitas County events—including the Gala, Golf Tournament, Affinity Builds, Make a Difference Day, Groundbreakings, and Home Dedications—while managing timelines, budgets, vendor contracts, and volunteer assignments. You’ll develop an annual events calendar with defined goals and ROI metrics, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and ensure clear communication and progress updates with the Area Director. Evaluating event performance and identifying areas for improvement will be critical to future planning success.

In addition to event management, you’ll design and implement a county-wide volunteer engagement strategy to support construction, store operations, events, and administrative efforts. You’ll recruit, train, and retain volunteers in an inclusive and welcoming environment, manage a volunteer recognition program, and oversee sweat equity tracking and compliance in partnership with the Construction and Homeowner Services teams. Maintaining accurate volunteer data and reports using systems like NXT will be essential.

This role also requires leadership and collaboration skills, as you’ll serve as the main liaison with community partners for all volunteer and event initiatives. You’ll create and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency, work closely with the marketing, communications, and development teams to align messaging and branding, and contribute to organizational strategic planning, revenue goal-setting, and annual budgeting. You’ll also supervise and mentor future Volunteer Coordinators, interns, and event support staff.

The ideal candidate will bring a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, event management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience), along with at least three years of experience in event management, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit leadership. Strong donor and sponsor relations, community outreach experience, and excellent project management and communication skills are essential. You should be adept at multitasking under tight deadlines, proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and CRM systems (NXT preferred), and experienced in volunteer management platforms. Leadership, supervision, and motivational skills are also key. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

At Habitat for Humanity, our mission is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We are guided by our core values: Lead with service, respect all people, build community, and deliver results.
